Pumps for Foaming Slurries

Our PSVP Pumps for Foaming Slurries, part of our PS range which incudes Stainless Steel AISI 316 Pumps tailored to Starch Production processes, stands out for its ability to handle fluids containing fibres and entrained gas. By incorporating features like a spiral screw and a unique inlet with guide blades, these pumps ensure efficient de-aeration and slurry transport. The PSCP-ZA is the self-priming alternative to this PSVP Pump, offering a solution for diverse operational needs. With a maximum viscosity of up to 100 cPs, impellers available in Open and Vacuum configurations, and a surface roughness of Ra < 0.8 as standard, these pumps meet strict industry requirements. Additionally, as they are available as FDA-approved executions, they ensure even greater compliance with sanitary regulatory standards.

Typical applications for our Pumps for Foaming Slurries:

  • Starch Production
  • Fibrous Particles & Fluids
  • Entrained Gas/Foam
  • Slurry De-Aeration
  • Slurry Transportation
Overview

The PSVP Pump for Foaming Slurries belongs to the PS series, a collection of Stainless Steel AISI 316 pumps. This series has been specifically designed for starch production processes and offers smooth internal finishes, optimal hydraulic performance and a modular design with various sealing options.

The PS series comprises 4 pump variants, each tailored to handle specific duties at various stages of the starch production process:

  • PSSP: used for pumping of fibrous slurries
  • PSVP: used for pumping of foaming slurries
  • PSCP: used for pumping of partially de-foamed starch milk
  • PSCP-ZA: self-priming and used as an alternative to the PSVP
Features & Benefits
  • Max viscosity up to 100 cPs
  • Impeller: Open and vacuum
  • Surface roughness < 0.8 Ra as standard
  • Available as FDA-approved
  • Spiral screw for fibrous slurries: the PSVP Pump can be fitted with a spiral screw on the eye of the impeller. This feature prevents clogging and delivers smooth flow every time
  • De-foaming compartment: efficiently de-airs and de-foams fluid before it enters the pump casing
  • Customisable: the PSVP Pump offers flexibility in its configuration and can be equipped with spiral screw, single or double mechanical seal with grease lubrication, vacuum nozzle, vacuum and pressure gauges and drain connection
  • Self-priming option: although the PSVP Pump is not self-priming, the PSCP-ZA is the self-priming alternative to the PSVP
