At Tapflo UK, we want to share our knowledge with you, so that’s why we’re going to share our 5 secrets about Sanitary Diaphragm Pumps with you.
Quality Guaranteed
The pump is manufactured from electro-polished Stainless Steel AISI 316L. The surface of the pump has an extra-fine finish, as standard, of Ra 0.8, and can be finished to Ra 0.5 upon request.
The finish of these pumps is what makes the pump perfect for sanitary applications. The material and finish of the pump is high quality to ensure that the surface is superior to those of standard diaphragm pumps. This is to prevent bacteria growth on the surface of the pump, as there are no hidden areas where the product could build up.
Similarly, the surface area of the diaphragm within the pump has a completely smooth and plain face. This prevents bacteria growth and leakages.
The diaphragms can also be manufactured in food-grade materials such as PTFE or white EPDM, to ensure the pump is 100% ready to pump consumables.

Easy Maintenance
The pump is manufactured for CIP & SIP (Clean and Sterilisation In Place) which makes the cleaning process extremely efficient. The pump can also be quickly dismantled without any tools, thanks to the clamp system on the pump.
The pump can be completely disassembled, quickly and simply to achieve the highest cleaning standards. The design of the Sanitary AODD with complete disassembly, also allows all wetted parts within the pump to be visually inspected.
This keeps service costs down and reduces the amount of time a pump is out of action.
Easy Draining
After CIP and SIP, the pump can be easily turned to support drainage. Making the whole cleaning process straight forward.
Pollution-Free Air Valve
The sealing system for the air valve inside the pump is free from lubrications which means that there is no risk of the product being pumped, being contaminated by oil. This also protects the environment surrounding the pump from being polluted by oil too.
Can be Fitted with a Heating Jacket
All of our Sanitary Diaphragm Pumps can be fitted with Heating Jackets, which are used when the product needs to maintain a specific temperature; this can be either a high or low temperature.
The heating jacket works by using a heating or cooling medium which is continuously circulated in the heating jacket, covering all wetted parts of the pump. This accessory for your pump would be perfect for applications such as chocolate, which would need to be kept at a high temperature to prevent it from hardening when leaving the pump.
