Magnetically Driven Centrifugal Pumps

Our HTM Range of Mag Drive Centrifugal Pumps from Italian partner, Gemme Cotti, was designed with the utmost safety in mind. Engineered with an innovative Mag Drive system, this pump, capable of handling liquids with viscosities up to 200 cSt, reduces the risk of leakage, enhances safety, and boosts overall efficiency. Available in injection-moulded Polypropylene, PVDF or AISI 316 Stainless Steel executions, this anti-corrosion industrial pump excels in pumping acids, base fluids and highly corrosive liquids. Additionally, these pumps are ATEX-available for use in hazardous environments.

Typical applications for our Gemme Cotti Magnetically Driven Centrifugal Pumps:

  • Chemical
  • Pharmaceutical
  • Biofuels
  • Textiles
  • Detergents
  • Oil & Gas
  • Water Treatment
Overview

How does the Mag Drive range work?

A Mag Drive Pump refers to how the torque of the motor is transmitted to the impeller inside the pump. There are 2 magnetic capsules which work in tandem to push the liquid through the pump; the first magnet capsule, referred to as either the external magnet or drive magnet, is attached to the motor shaft through the use of specialist adhesive or secured in place via grub screws. The second magnet capsule is encapsulated in either high-grade thermoplastic or metal and is located within the pump. The 2 magnet capsules are kept separated by a casing that also keeps the pumped medium contained. As power is supplied to the motor, the motor shaft rotation causes the attached external magnet to turn. The different polarities in the 2 magnet capsules result in the internal magnet rotating in unison with the external driving magnet. This internal magnet is coupled to the impeller inside the pump, which then pumps the liquid.

HTM Range

As the HTM range is manufactured from injection moulded polypropylene or PVDF, the pumps can be competitive on pricing without sacrificing the quality of the product.

HCM Range

For more heavy-duty applications, the HCM is ideal thanks to its machined solid-block construction (either polypropylene or PVDF), giving it a higher mechanical resistance and stronger structure. This makes the pump ideal for high pressure and temperature sensitive applications, including high corrosive liquids as well as noxious and carcinogenic fluids.

Dry-run protection available on request.

HTM-SP Range

The HTM-SP series is part of Gemme Cotti’s Mag Drive Centrifugal Pump range, which features all the benefits of the HTM series, with the added benefit of being self-priming up to 6m.

The HTM-SP series is designed to ensure maximum safety as there is no risk of leakages due to the magnetic coupling of the pump and motor. Additional features of this self-priming Mag Drive Pump include:

  • Available in thermoplastics PP or PVDF
  • BSP threaded inlet/outlet

CMS Range

The CMS range of Mag Drive Pumps is machined from AISI 316 Stainless Steel, although Hastelloy or Titanium editions are available upon request. As standard the CMS comes with threaded in and out connections.

The range boasts the same benefits as our CMP series (Thermoplastic counterpart), with the same reduced risk of leakage due to the magnetic coupling of the pump to the motor for maximum safety and efficiency.
